My friend and I both had shrimp tacos. They were garnished with 2 slices of brown avocado. When my friend complained the waiter brought a place of much better looking slices of avocado. Why did that even go out of the kitchen??
Haven't been here in a while but food and service still good. Always a good choice for lunch and dinner. Great environment. Everything we had was delicious - on the specials menu, fried green tomatoes and the special flatbread; on the regular menu, the trout salad and the Feast burger. Our waitress was amazing and so helpful with learning more about the area. Highly recommend. Check out the menu beforehand It's somewhat slim pickings but what we did order was delicious.
Feast is good for lunch and dinner, just OK for brunch. Easter brunch at Feast included a buffet, choice of entree, and coffee or tea. Our group of seven really enjoyed the food, and the service was excellent.
The room is bright and sunny -- it created the perfect mood to celebrate the holiday. Went for lunch. Service fast and friendly. Food quite good. The service was great. Appreciated them letting us sit there for a long time without constant questioning. Found this by Googling Gluten Free friendly restaurants in Chicago. My husband is very sensitive and he raved about it!
I loved my food too. The falafel burger was delicious!! I tasted the steak as well, perfectly cooked. We arrived at the same time as every other customer- they seemed a bit overwhelmed by this but served great food and were nice about the wait. Would come back for chilaquiles. Despite the restaurant being almost empty, we found the service to be very slow. The runners kept placing the wrong dish in front of each person, didnt seem to understand much English, and the waitress didn't come over to help them get it right.
The main dishes were mediocre at best. We did enjoy the desserts, though. They were the only redeeming part of the meal. I had family in from out of town and had selected the restaurant, so I was a bit embarrassed. It was a party of 7, so I wasn't completely surprised to see the gratuity added to the check.
When we walked in, the place was over 85 degrees and everyone was sweating. Even cracking a door did not help. Biscuits with blue cheese and onions and bacon brussel sprouts were only highlights. Would go back just for that app and side.
Steak nothing to write home about, and the mussel dinner had large portions, but the tiniest mussels inside. Broth was good, but the sausage was tastier than the shellfish. Service was good! Food was excellent! All the Tap beer tasted funny and was flat Otherwise not a bad place! My friend ordered short rib which she enjoyed, the polenta especially. Service was very slow. They had one server, a busboy and one food runner-on a Saturday. Food was not warm, not much flavor and paired wines were not poured in time for the accompanying dish.
Disappointing-I expect more for the price. Spent a lot of money. Bought a truffle which was so dried out the server could not even slice it. He just crumbled it up over the food. They brought me the wrong entree.
The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because they were very nice and brought the correct entree for us to take home. The meat items were really good. The vegetarian dishes were bland at times. The Apple dessert was cold as if it had just gotten out of the fridge. Great atmosphere. Great authentic and creative menu. The food was delicious, full of flavor and great quality. This this third time we have eaten at one of your pop-ups and enjoyed each one.
We will be back again. But we have attended Course Horse events at Eataly have can not say the same. Both were very disappointing. I would highly recommend the special pop-ups as each time the food was wonderful.
Menu has not evolved much since the iteration of this pop-up restaurant in Chicago. Nonetheless, the execution of the meals is generally solid, with generous serving sizes. I was disappointed in the experience. I had much higher expectations for such a cool concept.
We were very pleased with a couple of items and sadly disappointed by a couple items. They did some compensation for it but I would relay her have had an amazing experience than the concession. Jerome was a delight. The food was awesome! Unfortunately, they brought the mains to the table before we were done with our starters. They tried to set the plates down on top of things.
No, no, no. The truffles and wine were fantastic! They were busy and our waiter had too many tables. That said, we had been sitting at our table for over an hour with only bread and water. I was expecting the food to be much better than it was. The bread was hard crunchy focaccia. No extra oil for dipping was provided. The tajarin was just ok. It was basically a large bowl of noodles and truffle oil with extra shaved truffles.
If the pasta had sauce, it was not noticeable. One person had the duck and enjoyed it. Dessert was not offered until we asked. We also had to ask for our plates to be cleared at least half an hour after finishing eating.
In short, the food and service fell short of expectations. We ate at the Eataly pop-up truffle restaurant when it first opened and the food was excellent. On December 29 we took a friend and all three of us ordered the truffle supplement--and each of us experienced totally tasteless truffles.
Maybe since the restaurant was one night from closing the truffles were on their last legs. In addition, at our first meal there was very elegant truffle service involving a special cart and servers performing a "ritual" service; the second time it felt as though a busboy was doing the job and he had trouble scraping the remnants of our truffle from his slicer--furthermore, we had to ask for more truffle since he couldn't seem to get the end of our truffle on to our plates.
At the end of the meal we politely registered our disappointment and the cost of the truffle was removed from our check. That was appropriate but the whole point of the meal was to enjoy savory truffles not to avoid paying for tasteless truffles.
We eat at the various Eataly stations all the time and our experiences have been uniformly excellent and fairly priced so this was a major disappointment. Place was empty and service was terrible.
Birthday present. Excellent food. Unfortunately the truffles had no flavor at all. The food was excellent, and the staff was accommodating and did not charge us for the truffle, but we went here to have the truffle flavor. It was a major disappointment. Great food; so-so service. At this price point, service timing and attention should have been much higher.
Wonderful meal and service! Our server Anthony could not have been nicer. Love this pop up concept and look forward to more if these. Truffles-what an indulgence and so delicious!
