Inspiring nurses to travel both near and far, Kylee began Passports and Preemies in while volunteering in Skopje, North Macedonia. Passports and Preemies was created as a way to reach nurses and advocate for the prevention of nurse burnout by traveling. Find me on: Web Twitter Instagram Facebook. Im visiting Seattle soon and this post was very helpful.
The Bainbridge Ferry seems like a good idea. A nice ferry ride for 35mins in each direction. Does the nest charge for visiting the rooftop? Also, are there any sights or locations you would recommend for a Photography Trip in Seattle? My photography website is www squeakypicture. Thanks a bunch. From the top of the landmark, on the slowly rotating observation deck, the cityscape blends with the Pacific Northwest; mountains and water stretch out forever.
But the view of the Space Needle I love most is from directly below, preferably after dark. The needle is well lit, glowing with an even white light, and the circular top is held aloft by a stem that bows in then fans out as it connects to the observation deck. From below the deck looks like the gills of a portabello mushroom. The view is dizzying…and free. When the roof is open, it gives the stadium the feeling of a modern Colosseum.
From the nosebleed seats, the sky and the city skyline merge through a giant window of trusses, girders, and machinery. When I think of sunsets, I think of the orange and pink flames that spring from the snowcapped peaks of the Olympic Mountains. In the light of sunset, a perfect marriage of sky, water, and mountains is made for everyone in Seattle to see.
This was Seattle long before Safeco and the Space Needle. History sits quietly gathering dust under the strata of progress. Above ground, strolling around Pioneer Square, the old glass could be mistaken for nothing more than ornament.
It stands, conspicuous stone amid the modern towers, a staggering in terms 38 stories tall. To get my favorite view, find a chair on the patio of the Grand Central Bakery in Occidental Square, or head over to the historic pergola in Pioneer Square Park.
I used to do a morning boot camp there and seeing the sunrise glint off the city was one of the only things that got me out of bed at that ungodly hour. This park in Fremont is right on Lake Union and offers uninterrupted views of the lake and downtown Seattle. The city honors its history of being an old gas light company by keeping its manufacturing structures in place.
I love the funky steampunk vibes overlooking such pristine nature. One of my favorite spots to explore is the segment in Fremont that weaves underneath the Aurora Bridge near Lake Union. Green Lake is one of the viewpoints in Seattle I visit most often. Warren G. Magnuson Park is a large, funky park along Lake Washington. Madison Park Beach is one of the designated swimming beaches in Seattle. Seward Park is huge. But I hope to explore more of the hidden viewpoints of Seattle soon!
Alki Beach is a long, narrow beach in West Seattle that offers an awesome view of downtown Seattle and the Puget Sound. It can get crowded in the summer, so get there early to stake a spot. The arboretum has acres of gardens, natural areas, and wetlands.
There are paths that meander through different exhibits such as the popular Japanese Garden. But the best view is of Lake Washington accessed via one of its trails.
Good food and scenery ranging from Mount Rainier to the Space Needle. Mountains, skyline, water: Seattle has it all when it comes to fantastic vistas. And there are many restaurants across the city that occupy some choice real estate, overlooking the likes of Mount Rainier, the Space Needle, Puget Sound, and Lake Union.
No Instagram filters required. The latest CDC guidance for vaccinated diners during the COVID outbreak is here ; dining out still carries risks for unvaccinated diners and workers. Please be aware of changing local rules, and check individual restaurant websites for any additional restrictions such as mask requirements. Find a local vaccination site here. Studies indicate that there is a lower exposure risk when outdoors, but the level of risk involved with patio dining is contingent on restaurants following strict social distancing and other safety guidelines.
With a deckside view of Puget Sound and the sun setting behind the Olympic Mountains, this longtime Ballard restaurant along Shishole Bay is the total package. The Boathouse now accepts reservations. The Graduate Seattle hotel in the U District features a striking rooftop bar, with unimpeded views of the city and the mountains.
Open for onsite dining and takeout and delivery via Doordash. Tables on an outdoor patio line up on the northern shore of Lake Union, providing amazing views from this impeccably designed, seafood-focused favorite. The experience at this glass-walled South Lake Union restaurant is epic from the moment diners are whisked to the rooftop in a private elevator. Reservations are open for dine-in.
