Furthur chicago 2010

Lets see that's over 6, miles to catch 5 shows.. I enjoy road tripping and all but still. Ratdog tours around the 4 corner states why can't Furthur? Look at Julie down below.. Hope for the Buckeyes I'd love an Ohio date.

Buffalo got a show this winter and now another in the spring. I suppose The NE provides the means for having a bunch of shows within a couple hundred miles of each other - less travelling for them. But I admit I am jealous. For once I'd just like to drive oh maybe "only" a 1, miles while catching a good 6 or 7 shows Hey You people complain a lot, for a bunch of folks who were just informed that their favorite band is going on tour. My only complaint was directed toward myself and my lousy timing!

Come on, did you really just say that? In case you missed the last few decades, Phil is about to turn 70! Any touring they do at all these days, be it in Saskatchewan or Kilimanjaro or New York City, should be counted as a blessing. Alaskahead and cactuswax,go forth and spread the kindness and joy of your wise words Everyone else, stay after class Awesome venues for Summer Tour! According to the NYC Mayor's office, Coney is slated to be improved with the addition of about 15 new rides in time for this summer's season!!

It is so fabulous that Furthur is playing at Coney, you all are in for a real treat!! Swimming in the Atlantic, playing on the Boardwalk, seeing the boys I can taste the salt now Coney is also the home of that gift of Poseidon, cotton candy blown free from the candy machine by a good stiff sea breeze! David Grisman and the Neville Brothers versus the boys at Coney I checked Wikipedia about this stadium and it said people could not pass between the seats and the field, so that's something to be aware of.

I believe we will see some more shows announced. I wish people wouldn't leave selfish, mean posts, as though acting like a spoiled, nasty child is going to get you anywhere. Quit the infantile foot stomping, people. Upon Furthur review Dro and Johnman , you may be excused Coney Booster All the adults in the audience can check out, if they wish, one of Coney's most dedicated supporters, Brooklyn native Angie Pontani, who, with her sisters, performs burlesque in the time honored tradition. Check out what a Brooklyn gal has to offer We must be thankful for each and every show they play not to mention if were blessed to be there.

Now with technology we get the shows in a day if not hrs after the show. How about more Live Video shows. The pay per view like before but on our MAC's. But then again the farther there r play-in from me the better moving to cali so ill follow em back there.. Oh Please I made one complaint and its a valid one. Trust me I'm grateful for what I can get but we don't get too much out this way and so we have to make sacrifices if we want to see our favorite band.

Good for you that you all in the NE get so many shows! That's awesome and you are lucky. More dates West Coast needs some Phil I am not complaining I am begging.

Please Please Please come out West!!!! Without love in a dream it will never come true. It was mainly the guy who hurled the "you guys suck! Phil hates the PNW!!!! Thanks for once again blowing off the PNW. That's the kind of magic I'm talking about. Check out Phil's comments in the Donor Rap. Reviewer: ttjobbe - favorite favorite favorite favorite favorite - March 6, Subject: Thanks to the band I was at both Chicago shows, and the band sounds great.

The Auditorium Theatre is a great place to see a show, although I cant speak for those on the 4th balcony that looked very high. I was lucky enough to be in a great location for both nights.

We all should feel lucky that these guys are still traveling around providing great music. The Congress Hotel right across from the theater was a great spot to hangout before and after the shows. The one thing that really distracted me was watching Jay Lane.

He seemed completely uninterested in the show on the second night. There were moments where he was actually behind his drums like during slipknot, but I watched him countless times just walk away. Everyone else was playing their heart out the entire time.

Maybe he was distracted by other issues or ate something that took him away from the show, but there are a lot of drummers out there who would love to have his opportunity to play with these guys, it should be appreciated.

I hate to sound like a complainer, because the shows both nights were great. I just found this distracting.

Where we were, the sound quality was pretty good, so this stream should be good. As far as the show goes Well, I am one of those kids who was too young to see the grateful dead, so my frame of reference is kinda messed up.

With that said, this show was effin incredible. I've seen dead incarnations since the other ones. I have seen many variations of "Dead". This was hands down the greatest show I have ever seen! Energy was high, songs couldn't have been better if I'd picked them myself, crowd was super chill too. Only complaint was about getting in. What was the deal at the door?

Made me mad!!! This show is worth the listen! Per the tapers notes off Etree : " It's a shame because I was clamped onto the front of the balcony and it came out great. I believe I was the only one up there both nights. Last night my seat turned out to be great for taping. It was close to center and about rows back. I was able to tape my stand to the railing next to the entry tunnel to the lower balcony seats.

Reviewer: jack-a-roe-jimmy - favorite favorite favorite favorite favorite - March 5, Subject: This is it My friend and I traveled to these 2 Chicago shows and words can't describe how good they were I am 27 years old and never got to see the Grateful Dead, so all my opinions are based on seeing "post-Jerry" projects e.

This is the best concert I've ever seen. The band was on absolute fire in Chicago and feeding off the incredible energy. I can go into details of every song, but the setlist speaks for itself. Phil seemed very emotional all night and the 2nd set was clearly his masterpiece. There will be lots of comparisons to Jerry and the Grateful Dead in concert reviews following this tour, but I hope most people ignore these.

Just appreciate the band for what they are: great rock and roll. Go see Furthur. Reviewer: rockitman - favorite favorite favorite favorite favorite - March 5, Subject: Wow I haven't heard it all yet, but so far this show has the tightnesss and energy of Utica coupled with the greatest setlist of all time. Great job on the Front of Board recording. Reviewer: thedonkeyshow - favorite favorite favorite favorite favorite - March 5, Subject: yeah!! Holy shit I have been waiting to see a show like this!

Reviewer: JavaJoe37 - favorite favorite favorite favorite favorite - July 17, Subject: I was there! I did a road trip up from the Twin Cities to meet up with a buddy and see the band. I had seen Furthur just one other time, in the Fall of It was a really sweaty day, but the energy of the band was high.

I especially enjoyed the Cumberland, Stranger, Viola, and the Dew. Reviewer: bambamcdn - favorite favorite favorite favorite - July 24, Subject: Hot Def a good show. Was very HOT! Furthur is the latest incarnation of the post Grateful Dead bands.

Phil Lesh bass, vocals and Bob Weir guitar, vocals are the original members. There are also two back up singers. The Auditorium Theatre in Chicago: What a great venue. The Grateful Dead did a 4 day run here in A few other times, too, I think.

A beautiful theater with great acoustics, comfy seats, and good sight lines all around. Security was friendly, only really at the doors, and inside the venue it was just volunteers helping people find their seat. Which is always preferable. The show got off to a strong start with Feel Like a Stranger. Well, a post Grateful Dead, Furthur concert, in his case.
