Helps in developing confidence and skills that are beneficial on your resume. As an admissions counselor, I spent my days contacting prospective students, by phone, email or regular mail. Most days were spent in an office setting, and toward the end of my tenure I worked entirely remotely.

There were also times were I would attend higher education events to recruit students into the University. The hardest part of working for Antioch University was the University not being transparent about the state of the University.

But the University does try hard to be inclusive of all life styles and beliefs. Antioch is a warm and supportive place to work. Staff is helpful. Overall, students are highly motivated and interested in learning. I enjoy working there. Your experience matters. Help out others considering your employer. Rate your employer. I worked there as a federal work-study and it was both enjoyable and helpful. The manager was mindful of my school work and allowed for flexibility.

So there. Good culture. Positive culture and intimate campus setting. Supportive staff and faculty in very pleasant location. Communication could be better, however, they are available when you have questions. I loved Antioch as a school. I loved their mission of social justice, but leadership needed to take a long, hard look in the mirror. None of the longer-term staff had seen raises in about 5 years.

Raise freezes pay was low to begin with and the chopping of benefits over time made it very difficult to want to work for an institution that was so bent on being equitable and fair.

Hypocrisy, much? I do think they are trying to make things for the better, but mostly for students. Staff are always at the end of the line for anything. I really hope they can get it together for everyone who chooses to spend their time there -- be they students, staff, or faculty.

Having the ability to interact with students on a daily basis makes everything more fun and exciting. This is an amazing school and great place to work. I learned so much and enjoyed my time there.

After learning everything it was so sad to leave but I had to leave for the next person to be able to enter the work study program. Pros Everything. Cons Nothing.

A typical day at Antioch University means you come into a place you are welcomed and valued and like the folks you work with. You learn about how to collaborate with a diverse population, how to respectfully and effectively communicate. It's a place that likes to have fun while being professional at all times. When a co-worker or management messes up, typically they own up to it, find a way to do better and move on.

Management is fair, believes and trusts in their staff which helps and allows directors, managers, supervisors do their job well and with their spin on it, keeping the mission in mind at all times. The most enjoyable part of the job are the people. They are one of the most caring groups of people I've worked for.
